ED SIMME Doctoral School proposes the following thesis subject:
Title of the thesis : Study of radiation-matter interaction collective effects within porous media whose heterogeneities have characteristic sizes of the same order of magnitude as the wavelength
This project would be under the supervision of : Franck Enguehard, D2-FTC department of PPRIME Institute at Universite de Poitiers.
Co-supervisor(s) : Vital Le Dez /
Starting date: 10/2022
Thesis presentation:
This PhD subject deals with the determination of the volume radiative properties of porous media whose pores and heterogeneities have characteristic sizes comparable to the wavelength. In this kind of situation, the radiation-matter interaction can only be treated via the Maxwell’s equations formalism. The PhD student will study theoretically the interaction between an electromagnetic radiation and such a medium using different modelling approaches integrating or not the wave nature of radiation.
