ED SIMME Doctoral School proposes the following thesis subject:
Title of the thesis : Human assistance for robotic manipulation tasks in large workspaces
This project would be under the supervision of : Jean-Pierre GAZEAU, D3-GMSC department of PPRIME Institute at Universite de Poitiers.
Co-supervisor(s) : Pascal SEGUIN /
Starting date: 10/2022
Thesis presentation:
The RoBioSS team is a laureate of the national EQUIPEX+ TIRREX project (2021-2028). In this context, the experimental platforms of the team will be extended with innovative robotics manipulation equipment to meet the challenges of human assistance in large workspaces. We thus propose a thesis topic that will address the scientific issues of the project.
We will address, with this thesis project, the design and control strategies related to the realization of manipulation tasks with a mobile robotic system in wide workspaces with a high inertia with respect to the robotic system and/or high interaction forces. The mobile robotic system will consist of a manipulator arm equipped with a flexible gripper as an end-effector. The manipulator will be installed either on a “rolling” mobile base or on a “suspended” mobile base. The approach that we propose aims at reaching a level of maturation compatible with the requirements of an industrial transfer.
