SIMME Doctoral School is recruiting every year, on Poitiers and Limoges sites, around a hundred of PhD students including around thirty under a doctoral contract, which is a real labor contract signed with one of the Institute of Higher Education (EES) of the ComUE Leonard de Vinci (ENSMA, University of Poitiers, University of Limoges).


Requirements for a doctorate registration:

1. Hold a Master’s Degree

  • from EHEA (European Higher Education Area)
  • in one of the scientific, educational and technical departments (DSPT) of the Doctoral School : DSPT2 (Physics), DSPT4 (Chemistry) ou DSPT8 (Engineering Science)
  • in a discipline relating to the subject of the future host laboratory.

European Masters’ Degrees and Engineering Degrees recognized by the CDEFI bestow the Master’s degree. Applicants who hold a Master’s of a Higher Education Institute from a country that does not belong to EHEA or an Engineering degree non recognized by the CDEFI, will have to obtain a derogation (form available to download on registration pages).

2. Have a significant research background in a research laboratory (second-year Master’s or third-year Engineering cycle internships are usually used to acquire those skills).

3. Have applied to the recruitment campaign organized by the Doctoral School or the laboratories

4. Have a minimum of 1000,00€ funding per month during three years (or, in case of an International Dual Degree, during the periods in France).
